Installing the SAS Riser

1. Remove the top cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Top Cover” on page 82.

2. Being careful not to touch the components or connectors on the riser card, remove the card from the anti-

static bag and place it on a clean, ESD-protected work surface.

3. Rotate the retention latch into the up position.

4. If an expansion slot cover is installed, remove it by sliding it up.

5. Press the card down into the riser slot until it seats firmly in place.

6. Rotate the retention latch into the down position.

7. Connect the two mini-SAS cables connecting the SAS Riser to the backplane.

8. Install the top cover. For instructions, see “Installing the Top Cover” on page 52.
